Regional Training Centers

The new law "On Restoring Solvency of a Debtor or Recognizing It Bankrupt" promotes restructuring. Prior to enactment of the new Law, the bankruptcy system worked only for the sake of liquidation. As well, the legal and business culture lacked experience with respect to the reorganization of businesses subject to bankruptcy proceedings. The concept of restructuring under the debtor’s administration is still a relatively new concept for this country. To support enterprise financial restructuring throughout Ukraine, the Financial Restructuring Project created a network of six regional centers. The following tasks were successfully completed by the regional centers:

• Restructuring assistance to Ukrainian enterprises under bankruptcy proceeding in various sectors of economy;
• Training of experts in the restoration of solvency;
• Ensuring understanding of the opportunities and risks related to the provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Restoring Solvency of a Debtor or Recognizing It Bankrupt" by all key participants in the bankruptcy proceedings;
• Dissemination of information through mass media about the positive experiences of the enterprises that have successfully used the new Law.

Now all six regional centers continue their operation on the principles of self-financing. 

Financial Restructuring Department continues to improve the Corporate Restructuring Model as a computerized tool utilized by practitioners in evaluating enterprises and providing sanation plans in restructuring process.

Financial Restructuring Department  provides direct technical assistance to enterprises in developing and implementing enterprise restructuring plans under the law “On Restoring the Solvency of the Debtor or Declaring It Bankrupt.”
