The May meeting of the CLC Legal Club was dedicated to the problems of regulating and protecting ownership rights. Prof. Zoryslava Romovska outlined the issues for discussion. Among them were the following: division of common property, recognition of testaments and agreements invalid in view of their conflict with ethical norms, specifics of legal regulation and use of trusts in Ukraine and vindication as the means of protecting property rights. Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Mykola Husak added to the above list the problem of application of property seizure in criminal and civil law, as well as the problem of execution of court decisions on seizure of the debtor’s property. At the end of the meeting famous financier and member of the CLC Board Anatoliy Zhukov thanked the Club members for their presentations at the previous meeting, where the topic of “Banking system in the conditions of crisis: legal problems” was discussed. He said that some thoughts and proposals had been already implemented and had improved the state of the banking sector in Ukraine.
